It was a historic day in the betPawa Futsal Super League for forward AbdiKarim Abdullahi Ahmed as Kisenyi routed Kawempe 10-4 at the pinnacle of matchday 13.
In their emphatic victory over the league’s bottom-placed side, the young forward became the first futsal player to score eight goals in a single game ever in Uganda.
After Warsame Ismail put Kisenyi ahead early in the game, Abdullahi scored three times in three minutes, putting Kisenyi four goals up by the 7th minute.
Ashraf Walugembe and Reagan Ssebuufu then scored two goals for Kawempe, making the score 4-2 by the 13th minute.
Immediately after, Warsame scored again before Abdullahi got his fourth, marking Kisenyi’s sixth goal of the night.
With halftime ending 6-3, Abdullahi scored all four of Kisenyi’s second-half goals, securing his side’s victory at 10-4.

Having scored eight times, the Kisenyi pivot now sits second on the top goalscorer’s log with 23 goals. He is now only two goals below the current leader Michael Lubowa, who plays for Lubaga Grameen.
Aside from Abdullahi’s historic day, two other games were played on Friday to conclude matchday 13.
Second-placed FC Luzira continued their chase on Leaders Park FC with a huge 12-2 victory over Edgars Youth Programme, while Kampala Junior Team overcame Kabowa Dream Team 2-0 to secure their second consecutive league victory.
With Matchday 13 concluded, unbeaten and log leaders Park FC sit atop the log with 35 points, while Kawempe remains at the bottom with no points.
The League will be back next week at Old Kampala Futsal Arena with Matchday 14 action commencing on Thursday, 14th March, and ending on Friday, 15th March 2024.
