The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) will hold its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, as the association continues to build on a period of significant growth and achievement.

The AGM will bring together FAU officials, club representatives and other stakeholders to review the association’s progress, evaluate its programmes and competitions, and discuss the future direction of futsal in Uganda.

The annual gathering comes at a particularly significant moment for FAU, following a successful period in which the association has continued to strengthen its structures and expand the reach of futsal across the country.

FAU’s progress received national recognition last year when the association was named Best Member Association of the Year at the MTN FUFA Awards. The prestigious awards gala, held at the Kampala Serena Hotel, celebrated FAU’s growth and achievements in developing local futsal.

The award was a major milestone for the association and reflected the progress made in strengthening futsal competitions, administration and development programmes.

Over the years, FAU has continued to expand its competition portfolio, with the Futsal Super League, Futsal Uganda Cup and Futsal Super Cup forming part of its key competitions. The association has also increased its focus on grassroots development through youth and school-based futsal programmes.

Women’s futsal has equally gained increased attention, with FAU working to create more opportunities for female players and further develop the women’s game.

The upcoming AGM will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to assess these developments, discuss the challenges facing the sport and establish priorities for the next phase of futsal development in Uganda.

It will also be an opportunity to reflect on FAU’s journey since becoming an affiliate member of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in 2019 and to consider how the association can build on its achievements.

With FAU having earned national recognition as FUFA’s Best Member Association of the Year, the 4th AGM comes at a pivotal moment as the association seeks to consolidate its progress and set new targets for the continued growth of futsal.
