The prestigious Futsal Uganda Cup is finally back bigger and better after a forced two-year hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This was confirmed by the FAU competitions organising committee on Thursday with the release of team registration deadlines.

This season’s Uganda Cup will adopt a different format from all the past editions.

The tournament will have five rounds in total, starting with the group stages round. The second round will be the round of 16 which will played in home and away knockout format to decide the eight teams which will progress to round three – the quarterfinals.

At the quarters, teams will return to the groups and the best four teams will progress to round four, which will the semi-finals stage.

The semi-final and the finale will be played in the best-of-three format to decide the 2023/24 winner.

The reason behind the change in the playing format is to increase on the number of games which will be played. This will be hugely beneficial to players, coaches and referees.
