The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) congratulates Robert “Musomesa” Lubega, the Association’s Primary Schools Competitions Manager and Competitions Events MC, upon his appointment as Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Express Football Club.
Lubega’s appointment was confirmed following a stakeholders’ meeting involving Express FC management and supporters, held at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, on Sunday, 8th February 2026. The meeting was attended by FUFA Third Vice President, Oweek. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
A key figure within FAU’s competitions department, Lubega has played an integral role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of primary schools futsal competitions and major FAU events across the country. His contribution continues to support FAU’s strategic objective of strengthening grassroots development and structured competition pathways.
Speaking after his appointment, Lubega expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the game.
“I am humbled by the trust accorded to me and remain committed to serving football with professionalism and dedication,” he said.
Lubega replaces Jeremiah Mugerwa, who was recently elevated to the Chairperson role under the FUFA Club Licensing framework.
Beyond his responsibilities in Futsal, Lubega brings wide-ranging experience in football administration, having served in youth football leadership under the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA). He also currently serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kyadondo Ssaza, a position he has held since 2025.
FAU recognizes Lubega’s appointment at Express FC as a testament to the growing impact of futsal administrators within the broader football ecosystem and wishes him success as he continues to serve both FAU and Ugandan football at large.
