Kazibwe’s Late Penalty Sends Kabowa Dream Team into Uganda Cup Quarters

Kabowa Dream Team booked their place in the Futsal Uganda Cup quarterfinals in dramatic fashion after Victor Kazibwe calmly converted a late penalty to seal a thrilling 4–3 victory over Lubiri Falcons.


The knockout encounter lived up to expectations, with both sides trading blows in an end-to-end contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Lubiri Falcons showed immense resilience, pushing Kabowa all the way and refusing to back down as the match swung back and forth.


With the scores level late on, Kabowa were handed a golden opportunity when Carlos Kaddu was brought down inside the area. Up stepped Kazibwe, who showed nerves of steel to strike the decisive spot-kick off the crossbar and into the back of the net, sparking celebrations and confirming Kabowa’s progression to the last eight.


Earlier in the game, Kazibwe, Kaddu and Alex Kizito were on the scoresheet for Kabowa Dream Team, while Lubiri Falcons stayed firmly in the contest through a brace from Kintu Mansour and a goal from Sulaiman Mutyaba.


In the quarterfinals, Farouk Makumbi’s side will host QC Mbarara with a place in the semifinals at stake. QC Mbarara secured their spot in the last eight after a convincing 3–0 victory over Old Kampala.
