A new chapter in Ugandan sports history begins this weekend as the Futsal Women Super League officially kicks off. The much-anticipated debut takes place on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Okla Futsal Arena in Old Kampala, promising a thrilling showcase of speed, skill, and determination from the country’s top female futsal stars.
The opening fixture will see Old Kampala Futsal Club battle UG KOP Futsal Club, setting the tone for what’s expected to be an electric season. The action continues with Lamanisia Futsal Club facing Entebbe Cheeters, before Mengo City closes the evening against Mbarara QC.
The establishment of the Women Super League marks a major milestone for the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU), underscoring its unwavering commitment to empowering women in sports.
FAU CEO Ibrahim Mugera emphasized the strategic importance of the new league, stating:
“The introduction of the women’s game is a strategic move that also targets the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar in 2026. We want to ensure Uganda is not only competitive locally but also represented on the continental and global stage.”
He further highlighted FAU’s long-term vision:
“This season’s calendar represents a major leap in inclusivity and competition structure. We’re proud to expand opportunities for women and young players, ensuring futsal continues to grow in all directions.”
