The Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) has been crowned the winner of the FUFA Member Association Award 2024 during the prestigious FUFA Awards Gala held on Friday night at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The award recognizes FAU’s outstanding contribution to the promotion and organization of futsal as a competitive and developmental sport in Uganda. FAU emerged top among fellow nominees NEC FC and the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA).
Since its establishment in 2015 and official affiliation to FUFA in 2019, FAU has played a pioneering role in introducing structured futsal competitions—such as the Futsal Super League and the Futsal Uganda Cup—alongside initiatives in referee and coaching education, youth development, and grassroots outreach.

The night was also a double celebration for the futsal community, as Kisenyi FC’s Ilyas Omran was named Futsal Player of the Year 2024. Omran finished as the top scorer in both the betPawa Futsal Super League (41 goals) and the Futsal Uganda Cup (13 goals), helping Kisenyi to a runners-up finish.
FAU’s recognition marks a significant milestone and serves as a strong endorsement of its vision and commitment to the development of futsal in Uganda. The award is expected to propel the sport to even greater heights nationwide.
