Mengo City is back on the hunt—this time for Uganda Cup glory—as they gear up for a thrilling semifinal showdown against Kabuusu Clouds.
Fresh off clinching the League title, the reigning champions are determined to add another trophy to their cabinet. The action kicks off on Monday, 19th May 2025, at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena. Mengo City will headline the first Uganda Cup semifinal at 5pm
They’ve been dominant in this year’s tournament, cruising past Lubaga Grameen in the Round of 16 and brushing aside Crown Lubiri in the quarterfinals.
Kabuusu Clouds, however, are no pushovers. They reached the semis after eliminating Motion Sports Academy in the quarters and Busunju Sparks in the Round of 16. With sharp-shooters Tony Ssemwegerere and Najib Muwonge each scoring four goals, they’re ready to test the league champs.
The second semifinal at 6pm promises fireworks as defending Uganda Cup champions Park FC take on high-flying Kisenyi FC. Park FC, who lost the league title to Mengo City this season, are now fighting to retain their Cup crown.
Adding spice to the matchup is Joshua Aziku, who lost last year’s final with FC Luzira but now suits up for Park FC—and might just taste redemption.
Still, Kisenyi FC won’t go down easy. Their star striker Ilyas Omran is in sensational form, having scored in seven consecutive matches and leading the Cup scoring charts with 12 goals in just four games. Park FC captain Shafic Mulangira has netted four times, with Aziku adding three to his name.
All semifinalists will be back in action on Friday, 23rd May 2025. Winners will meet in the grand finale, while the losing teams will contest a third-place playoff.
Also on Friday at Old Kampala Futsal Arena, the Betpawa Futsal Super League Frenzy Edition wraps up with a blockbuster final between Crown Lubiri and Kisenyi FC. Meanwhile, Mengo City will face QC Mbarara in the loser’s match.
