Defending champions Park FC, along with Kisenyi FC, Fiyore SC, and First Touch Sports, have all booked their spots in the 2024/25 Futsal Uganda Cup quarterfinals after thrilling Round of 16 victories on Friday evening at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Kisenyi FC delivered the most dominant performance of the day, overwhelming Nansana ASKA Academy with a 9-0 scoreline. Ilyas Alalous Omran was the star of the show, netting five goals, while Marvin Ategeka, Shafiq Dirir, Ivan Alioni, and Bashir Warid added to the Mengo-based side’s comprehensive win.
Defending champions Park FC edged Edgars Youth Programme in a thrilling 5-2 match. Captain Shafiq Mulangira led by example with a brace, while Joshua Aziku, Abasi Junior Muluya, and Frank Nsereko also found the back of the net. Atendele Bob and Eze Kombi provided consolation goals for Edgars.
Debutants Fiyore SC continued their impressive run in the competition, defeating Lubaga Grameen Youth 8-2. Abdiwali Ali’s four goals spearheaded the victory, with further contributions from Abdihamid Ahmed, Abdiwali Halane, Awale Abshir, and Fiyore Ahmed. Grameen Youth’s Eric Buyondo and Sulaiman Yakubu managed to score late consolation goals.
First Touch Sports rounded off the evening by overcoming Kisugu FC 4-2 in a dramatic comeback. Shukran Kakande twice put Kisugu in the lead, but First Touch equalized both times through Denis Muwaga and Denis Kaweesa. Kaweesa then completed a second-half hat trick to propel his team to victory.
With these four teams securing their places in the quarterfinals, the remaining quarterfinalists will be confirmed next Friday as the Round of 16 concludes with four more matches at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
