Pivot Kenneth Majara showcased his prowess with a double hat-trick, securing Kisugu’s fifth consecutive victory as they rallied to defeat Kampala Junior Team Futsal Club 7-3 in a matchday 17 betPawa Futsal Super League clash held on Friday evening at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Of Majara’s six goals, only one was scored in the tightly contested first half.
KJT made an assertive start, taking the early lead with an excellent strike from Jordan Ajuna.
However, just before halftime, Majara leveled the score for Kisugu, setting the stage for an intense second half.
Majara wasted no time after the break, putting Kisugu ahead and adding two more goals to extend their lead to 4-1 within the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Although KJT briefly narrowed the gap to 4-3 with Joel Kizza netting twice, their resurgence was short-lived.
Richard Mugisha, coming off the bench, widened Kisugu’s lead before Majara struck twice more, completing his fifth and sixth goals of the night and sealing Kisugu’s 7-3 victory over KJT.
Majara’s remarkable feat puts him among the league’s top scorers in a single game this season, with only Kisenyi’s AbdiKarim Abdullahi Ahmed surpassing him. Earlier in the season, Abdullahi made history by netting eight goals in Kisenyi’s 10-4 win against Kawempe FC.
Additionally, the Kisugu pivot now sits third on the top goalscorer’s chats with 26 goals, two behind the leader Abdullahi with five games left to play
Kisugu now sit fifth on the log with 32 garnered in their 17 games and will play Edgars Youth Programme in their next fixture on Thursday.
In other Friday evening fixtures, Nansana ASKA defeated Kawempe 4-1, while Aidenal narrowly edged past Mengo City with a 1-0 victory.
