Mengo City has claimed the top spot in the BetPawa Futsal Super League following a decisive 4-1 victory over Lubaga Grameen at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena on Friday.
The win, combined with Park FC’s shock 2-1 defeat to Kabowa Dream Team, sent Mengo City one point clear at the summit with just five games remaining.
Park FC had entered the matchday with a two-point lead but stumbled against Kabowa, with Victor Kazibwe and Carlos Kaddu scoring for Kabowa before Shafiq Mulangira netted a late consolation.

Mengo City capitalized on Park’s slip-up, overpowering Lubaga Grameen. Abdulkarim Tebera opened the scoring, but Sunday Franco leveled for Lubaga. Samuel Omara restored the lead before halftime, and captain Male Anthony sealed the win with a second-half brace.

The result extends Mengo City’s unbeaten streak to 16 matches , their only loss being a 7-1 thrashing by Park FC in the season opener.
Park FC meanwhile lost it’s second game of the season, with their first defeat of the season coming against lowly Lubaga Grameen in the first round.
