Futsal Uganda Cup: Park secure quarterfinal slot as Al Haramen garner first victory

On Friday night, Park FC became the second team to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Futsal Uganda Cup after defeating their rivals Yeak Kabowa 5-2 in a group D game played at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.

They were inspired by wingers Abasi Muluya and Kalyango Samuel, who were so brilliant on the day to score three and two goals respectively.

On the losing effort, Younis Abdullahi and Andrew Kayanga scored for the Yeak Kabowa side who also had Ssembatya Lawrence sent off in the closing minutes of the game.

Victory for Park means that they join Kabowa Dream Team in the quarterfinals of this competition after having secured maximum six points in their opening two games.

For Yeak, they remain on three points and will need to beat Al Haramen in their last group stage game to secure a last 8 slot.

Al Haramen are also on three points after having beaten Motion Sports 7-3 on Friday to secure their first victory of the competition.

The Futsal Uganda Cup will resume next Friday with FC Luzira taking on Makerere University in the group A game.
