The 2023 Futsal Uganda Cup continued on Friday evening with two entertaining group C games played at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.

We had a shock in the first game as debutants Pitch Pirates held on to defeat Kisenyi Futsal Club while the second game saw Mengo City make light work on Gods Glory-Katale.

Starting off with the first game, Pitch Pirates proved so strong on their debut as they scored five goals before Kisenyi would respond late on.

Antony Male netted a brace for Pitch Pirates before a goal each from Vincent Adriko, Francis Jurua and Victor Chacha to go five goals up.

Kisenyi then got three goals from Abdulkarim Abdullah, Abubakar Yusuf and Dirir Mohammad which all came so late to change the result of the game.

In the second game, Mengo City made light work of God Glory-Katale as they comfortably won 9-1 to record the biggest victory in this year’s competition.

To secure that emphatic victory, Umar Ssebulimba notched in a hat-trick, Muwonge Najib and Oketch George had braces while Mwebaze Lamech and Lule Uthman each found the back of the net once.

Kirumira Samuel scored Gods Glory’s lone goal in the disappointing defeat.

After the first games in group C, Mengo leads the way with three points and an eight-goal difference. They will play Kisenyi next on 29th September, 2023 – the same day that Gods Glory will battle Pitch Pirates in the other game.

Action will continue next Friday 8th September as Yeak Kabowa takes on Motion Sports before Park FC battles Al Haramen FC.
