The Futsal Uganda Cup quarterfinals take centre stage this Friday, 20th, at the OKLA Futsal Arena, with four teams chasing semifinal places in what promises to be a tightly contested evening.
Edgars Youth Programme vs Lubaga Grameen
Key Battle: Isaac Apenyo vs Junior Niwamanya

Edgars Youth Programme were among the most convincing sides in the opening round, scoring five times to underline their attacking strength. Much of that threat came through Isaac Apenyo, whose hat-trick set the tone. He times his runs well and needs little space to punish defenders.
Lubaga Grameen, however, have their own danger man in Junior Niwamanya. With two goals to his name so far, he has shown sharp instincts inside the area and pace on the break.
If Edgars manage to feed Apenyo early and often, they could control the contest. But if Lubaga keep it compact and spring forward through Niwamanya, the tie could swing their way.
Mbarara QC vs Kabowa Dream Team – 8:00 PM
Key Battle: Kabowa’s attacking variety vs Mbarara’s structure
Kabowa Dream Team arrive with confidence, having seen four different players get on the scoresheet in the previous round. That spread of goals makes them difficult to read and even harder to mark. Their rotation in attack and willingness to shoot from different areas could prove decisive.
Mbarara QC progressed in unusual fashion, benefiting from opponent own goals. They now face a sterner test and will need more creativity in possession while maintaining defensive discipline. Staying organised and limiting space between the lines will be vital against Kabowa’s fluid movement.
