The countdown is on. When the Women’s Uganda Futsal Cup quarter-finals kick off on Friday, 20 February 2026, it will mark more than just the start of the knockout rounds—it will signal a powerful new chapter in the rise of women’s futsal in Uganda.

Organized under the stewardship of the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), this season’s competition has delivered a vibrant mix of established contenders and ambitious community-driven sides, each carving a unique path to the final eight.

The Matchups

Mengo City Ladies vs. Lubaga Grameen Ladies

Mengo City’s “Lady Stormers” made history in this maiden edition by qualifying emphatically for the quarter-finals with a disciplined 3-1 victory over the Lubiri Falcons. Their performance was built on a foundation of resolute defending and clinical transitions. In contrast, their opponents, Lubaga Grameen Ladies, advanced to the last eight via a bye in the draws. This tie promises to be a classic clash: the structured experience of Mengo City against the fresh, ambitious momentum of Lubaga Grameen.

Nansana ASKA Ladies vs. Lubiri Falcons Ladies

Nansana ASKA Ladies enter the quarter-finals fresh after receiving a bye in the initial draws. They face a Lubiri Falcons side that arrives with a point to prove; despite a 3-1 loss to Mengo City in the qualifiers, the Falcons progressed as one of the “best losers.” Expect a high-intensity tactical battle as the Falcons look to capitalize on their second chance against a composed Nansana side.

Mbarara QC Ladies vs. Entebbe Cheetahs Ladies

Representing Western Uganda, Mbarara QC Ladies made the loudest statement of the qualifiers, netting a staggering 10 goals against the Kabowa Dream Team. Their energetic pressing and creative flair have made them a “team to watch,” reflecting the rapid countrywide growth of the sport. They face Entebbe Cheetahs Ladies, who progressed via a bye and will need to find their rhythm quickly to contain Mbarara’s explosive attack.

Kisenyi Ladies vs. Edgars Youth Programme Ladies

This fixture offers a spicy rematch of the qualifiers. Kisenyi Ladies punched their ticket to the quarters with a gritty, fearless 5-2 win over Edgars—a performance emblematic of their community roots and tactical awareness. Despite that defeat, the Edgars Youth Programme Ladies advanced as the second “best loser.” They now have the ultimate opportunity for redemption; to move on, they must shore up the defensive gaps that Kisenyi exploited just weeks ago.
