As the new school year approaches, the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) is preparing to open a fresh chapter in grassroots sports development—one that places young learners at the heart of the game.

In 2026, FAU will once again bring schools together through the Futsal Primary Schools League, a programme designed to nurture talent, character, and community from an early age.

Across Uganda, school courts and halls will soon come alive with the rhythm of futsal—quick passes, confident movement, shared celebration, and the unmistakable joy of children learning through play.

For FAU, this league is more than a competition. It is a platform where education meets sport, and where pupils are guided to grow not only as players, but as disciplined, respectful, and confident individuals.

FAU is inviting primary schools to take part in this national programme by registering boys’ and girls’ teams across the designated age categories. The league structure ensures that every child has the opportunity to participate meaningfully.

With smaller teams, unlimited substitutions, and no offside rule, futsal guarantees constant involvement, encouraging creativity, decision-making, and teamwork in a safe and enjoyable environment.

The league has been carefully aligned with key stages of child development. Younger pupils are introduced to the game through fun, coordination, and basic technical skills, while older participants begin to understand teamwork, tactical awareness, and responsibility on and off the court. Through this progression, schools become partners in shaping both sporting ability and personal values.

Participation in the Futsal Primary Schools League 2026 also offers schools increased visibility and recognition within the sporting community. As pupils compete for trophies, medals, and certificates, they also represent their schools with pride, strengthening school identity and unity.

Beyond the pitch, the league opens early pathways into future roles within the sport, from playing and coaching to officiating and administration.

FAU now calls upon all interested primary schools to officially confirm their willingness to participate in the Futsal Primary Schools League 2026. By answering this call, schools join a national effort that uses futsal as a tool for education, inclusion, and holistic child development.

In responding, schools are not simply entering a league—they are investing in the future of their pupils, helping to shape confident learners, responsible citizens, and the next generation of Ugandan sport.

All interested primary schools are kindly requested to officially confirm their willingness to participate in the league, as early confirmation will support effective planning and organization. Schools are required to submit their confirmation by 10th February 2026 via futsaluganda@gmail.com, taking the first step toward an exciting season of competition, development, and opportunity for young talents.
