The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has teamed up with Zannya Africa Foundation (ZAF) to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025.
Under the theme “Score for Health,” ZAF has organized sports activities in Bwaise, Kawempe Division, aiming to promote reproductive health awareness, menstruation education, and empowerment among women through sports.

The activities including netball and Futsal are built on three key principles:
- Sport can be a powerful tool for promoting health, education, and empowerment among women and girls.
- Netball is a popular sport among African women and girls, providing an ideal platform for promoting reproductive health awareness and menstruation education.
- Menstruation-related stigma and shame can be addressed through education, awareness, and empowerment.
Over 10 teams are participating in these activities, targeting young women aged 16-35 years old.
