The 2023/24 betPawa Futsal Super League roared back to life for its second round on Thursday evening with three thrilling matches at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
In the opening match, Aidenal FC clinched a comfortable 3-0 victory over Edgars Youth Programme, securing their second consecutive win of the season and moving to seven points in 12 games.
The second game witnessed second-placed FC Luzira overcoming their disappointment from the Futsal Uganda Cup final as they cruised to a 7-2 win over Kabowa Dream Team.
Joel Ogwang scored a hat-trick and Samuel Omara bagged a brace in a dominant display, propelling Luzira to within three points off leaders Park FC.
Kabowa meanwhile, suffered their sixth loss of the season, remaining eighth on the log with 14 points.
The final match of the day saw Kampala Junior Team breaking their six-game winless streak by defeating Kawempe 6-2, with Abdulshakuru Nsereko leading the charge with four goals
With this victory, the academy side climbed a spot on the log, now sitting ninth with 13 points.
For Kawempe, they remain bottom with no points so far garnered in their 12 games.
Matchday 12 promises more excitement on Friday evening with three additional fixtures:
- Kisugu, in excellent form, will take on third-placed Kisenyi FC.
- Park FC, the undefeated leaders, will face off against Nansana ASKA.
- Mengo City will host Lubaga Grameen in the inaugural Mengo derby of the second round.
