Futsal Association Uganda and Uganda Youth Football Association held a key stakeholders meeting on Friday, 27th 2020.
The key meeting held at the FUFA SIG offices was meant to draw a road up on how the two Associations could collaborate with effort to grow the game of futsal at grassroot level.
And the major deliberations were tailored around- competitions, coaching and refereeing.
The meeting resolved on initiating Youth/Academies Futsal Competitions for both Boys and Girls-U13 and U 15. The competitions are tentatively scheduled for April 2021.
In regards to helping the technical growth of the players and entire outlook of the game,a Futsal Coaching Course firstly at beginners level for academy coaches will be held in February 2021.
In addition, a Refereeing Course at beginners level will also be organized in February 2021 in order to deal with scarcity of referees for the game.
FAU continues to grow its breadth of partnerships and alliances inorder to introduce and grow the game as per its strategy plan.
As per the 2020/24 five year strategic plan recently designed by Futsal Association Uganda, the Association will on Friday 27th November 2020 at FUFA Special Interest Groups offices in Lungujja take a milestone stride in line with it.
FAU shall hold a key stakeholders meeting with Uganda Youth Football Association among the least but to be headlined by how to fast track growing the game of futsal at grassroots level.
FAU vibrantly looks at introducing futsal to the youth players categories both male and female (8-17 years) and the meeting shall particularly focus on Youth Futsal Competitions in Academies Calendar & Action Plan;
FAU shall be represented by its CEO-Ibrahim Mugera, Futsal Development officer- Serugo Pius, FAU Youth Futsal Delegates-Katende Jude and Dorothy Namugenyi.
UYFA is expected to be represented by
UYFA S.G- Shafic Kigongo, UYFA Futsal Committee Chairman- Ssekabira Kennedy, UYFA Futsal Committee Member- Sarah Birungi, UYFA Vice Chairman Technical- Kabugo Mansoor- tentative.
