Mengo, Big Talent: Pre-Matchday 3 reactions

Match Day 3 will present the most anticipated game so far. Mengo Futsal Club will tussle out with Big Talent Soccer Academy as the only teams to have picked up maximum points after 2 games.

We speak to both teams capturing some reactions on how prepared they could be ahead of this ‘clash of the Titans’.

Mengo Futsal Club have been the most solid team so far exhibiting game control and scoring at free will and their Coach couldn’t highlight it better.

About the previous game

“Pretty much impressed , our opponents scored first but we were able to pull back three goals that saw us win the game, three solid points for us putting us on the top of the table”

State of the squad

“Well, we just need to keep working hard and stay focused, we working on maintaining our mental strength to solidify our winning streak! We only have one player out for the next game Abdi nasir Mineste who is ill. We are prepared for our next opponent and we shall give it our best shot”

Mengo Futsal Club Head Coach Bruhan Ismail

“Our next opponent is a strong opponent but we shall give them a hard fight and try to win the game”- Mengo Head Coach Bruhan Ismail

This edition’s surprise package- Big Talent Soccer Academy will seek to send a big message to the old boys if in any case they manage to perform well or upset their opponent- Mengo. We pick some reactions from their Head Coach Ssembatya Muhammad

How impressed were you with the Match Day 2 result, what did it mean to the team?

Performance wise, I wasn’t impressed by my team although we won the game after conceding 2 goals in first half “I am happy the boys worked hard to overturn the result.” May be it was due to the last minute injuries by some of top players Farouk and Akram to be specific. But those available did finish the job – there is no bad win.

Big Talent Soccer Academy’s Skipper and current Futsal Super League Top Scorer- Wabyoona Faizal

I should commend the organising committee not only for the game this time round but also managing to work around the clock to have the pitch looking nice, this was a complaint of every team on match day 1. Match day 2 was a different one. Thumps up guys.

What areas need to improve and how prepared is the team for the coming game? Any major changes in the squad due to injuries or any other reasons?

Our game is always the next one not the ones we have won. The boys are ready and we promise a good challenge for our next opponents.
Let’s see whether Farouk and Akram pass the late fitness test on Friday, they have had enough rest, they are professional and always prepared to play when called on.

About your next opponents? What are your chances against them

Mengo FC is a good team and have played this league before so they have a bit of an edge on us but this won’t deter us from playing our good game.

We can’t predict the chances of winning – ours is to play a good game for our fans and believe in God the results will come by themselves.
We have scored the most in number and beautiful goals of the tournament and we shall continue to do so. Saturday is around the corner.
