Futsal Super League Groups Renamed Albert, Victoria Nile
The groups for this season’s forthcoming Futsal Super League have been renamed Albert and Victoria Nile.
This is intended to identify the game with one of the beauties in the Pearl of Africa as River Nile is the longest River in Uganda, Africa and the World.
“This will also relay the game to one of the biggest Tourism potentials in the country,” said FAU Chairman Hamza Junju.
Albert Nile Group – Mengo, Aidenal SOSA, Big Talent Academy, KJT
Victoria Nile Group – Park, Kisenyi, Kabowa, Synergy
The league will kick off on Saturday 1st May 2021 at a new venue – Old Kampala Sports Arena – after it was previously played at MTN Arena in Lugogo and Kisenyi.
The new venue is located at former URA offices.
On the choice of the new venue, Junju adds: “Its the only court with Standard Futsal Floor. This will enhance better quality display of the game, and such location is easy to access by fans and we believe it will build better connection for Futsal and masses in Kampala.”
There will be maximum observance of Standard Operating Procedures as required, therefore, fans attendance will be through invitations from clubs.
Hand washing points and temperature guns will be in place, all fans will be spaced and with masks.
Unlike the previous seasons where games were played in the evening, the kickoff time has changed.
The games will be played between 9am-1pm to abide by the carfew regulations in place.
All games will be shown live on FAU and Deep End Media social media pages.
