Futsal graduate scores two goals for Uganda Cubs at AFCON U17 Qualifiers
Futsal graduate Alex Yiga found the back of the net twice as Uganda got off to fine start in the AFCON U17 Qualifiers in Ethiopia with a 4-0 victory over Burundi.
Yiga, who spent 2021-22 season playing for Park FC in the Futsal Super League got his first with 12 minutes on the clock, rising high to head in a well-crafted Abubakari Walusimbi cross.
The youngster’s second came just before the break when he rounded off Burundi goalkeeper Ramadan Ndikumana to net into an empty net.

The 16-year old could have added a third in the second half but was unlucky as he saw his effort just ooze few inches off target with Ndikumana well beaten.
Another Futsal graduate, Frank Tumwesigye also got playing time as he was a second half substitute for Nkoola Arafati just after the hour mark.
Yiga and his Ugandan teammates will be back in action on Thursday afternoon when they take on South Sudan in their last groupstages game.
