FSL Select Games: Scores end even as Somalia exert revenge on Uganda

After two games, nothing could separate Uganda and Somalia as they played out to a 9-all aggregate stalemate in the two-legged Futsal Super League ( FSL ) Select Games

After Uganda winning the first leg 4-3 last Saturday, Somalia exerted revenge on their neighbours on Saturday evening- winning the game 6-5 at the flooded O’Kla Futsal Arena.

Somalia were inspired by AbdiKarim Omar who netted thrice in the opening half to put them 5-2 ahead before the break. The other two goals for Somalia after 20-playing minutes were scored by Younis Abdullahi and goalkeeper Sabir Abdirizak, while Ogwang Joel and William Sseguya found the back of the net for the Ugandan who got stunned in the opening half.

The game got to 5-3 immediately after the break as FSL topscorers Omara Samuel got his name on the scoresheet, but few moments later Abdul Karim restored Somalia’s three goal lead with neat finish following good build-up from Bakar Yusuf and Younis.

In the last ten minutes of the game, Uganda’s Kintu Mansoor and Ogwang got the ball past goalkeeper Sabir to reduce on Somalia’s lead and consequently produce a nervy ending to the game.

This is the second time the FSL Select Game has been played. It was first played in the 2018 and Somalia won it 5-4 on aggregate.
