Futsal Super League table standings after Match day 6

While Synergy and Mengo had booked their slots in the semis prior to Match Day 6, there had been room for only two other sides of; Kisenyi, Park, Aidenal and Big Talent Soccer Academy to play in the semis.

Big Talent Soccer Academy made great use of the opportunity first. Sitting second in the Albert Nile group, they needed a win over leaders Mengo who were yet to lose a game.

A day to shine for Kaye Ronald was just enough to steer Big Talent to the semis with a glut from the former upsetting Mengo who were subjected to their first loss of the season. Mengo’s Mayanja Saidi was also on the score sheet with a deserved hatrick to continue with his impressive performance so far.

Park redemption.

After a horrible start to the season, Park Futsal Club recollected themselves in the second round to book a semi final berth. While they needed a slump from Kisenyi, they did their part with a comprehensive clean sheet victory that so them burry the bad memories of the first round. A double brace form Saidi Kabogaza and Junior Abbas was enough to attest to that.

Kisenyi’s second round woes

After losing two straight games, Kisenyi had picked some confidence on Match Day 5 and hoped to build on it-but they couldn’t. While aware of the outcome from Park’s game, Kisenyi fell to their own pressure and a might of their opponent- Synergy. Kisenyi needed to defeat the unbeaten Victoria Nile group leader for a place in the next round. But it was always going to be a tough task.

Despite taking an early lead through Ibrahim Ali Abdulkadir, the heat from Synergy, was not one to contain for so long and soon they leveled matters through the league’s top marksman Travis Mutyaba who went on to net the second hatrick of the day.

Yasin Sabir and Buule McDonald added the others to put the game beyond reach. Matching orders showed to Mohammad AbdiRahim Ismail after reckless play made the tough task further insurmountable for Ssekanyo’s side.

Elsewhere, Aidenal SOSA sealed off their group stage games with a double over Kampala Junior Team- the only side that couldn’t afford a victory at the group stage. An own goal, a piece from Kakaire Thomas and Kalanzi Dennis-who scored in his second successive game, were enough to grant Aidenal their third victory in six outings.
