Engaging schools with girls U13 is another area of focus this year for both UWFA and FAU inorder to prepare a team for girls in the 2026 Youth Olympic games in Dakar.
” Our other competition of focus this year, we will see how to engage the young girls under 13 because we have a dream of having a girl’s futsal team in the 2026 Youth Olympic games so if these girls have to be 16 by that time because the tournament is for U17.” Jjunju said before adding;
” We also need more girls and women in Futsal coaching and refereeing and we believe working with UWFA, We will be able to have course expecially targeting girls and women to come learn about futsal coaching and refereeing.”
” All in all what we are looking for is being among the countries/ associations that are working in line with World’s bodies to bring gender balance into the game and other social aspects of life”
“As UWFA, We need to work hand in hand with FAU so we develop the Futsal Women who are there. We shall have capacity building courses in referring and coaching so that we develop all areas in Women futsal” Kubingi said after the meeting with FAU.
