FAU, FUFA meet to deliberate on Girl Futsal development and 2026 Youth Olympics Games plans

The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU), through the Futsal Youth Delegate and Chairperson Futsal Women and Girls Committee Dorothy Namugenyi met with FUFA Executive Secretary Competitions Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi on Saturday to deliberate on activities and plans to achieve the 2026 Youth Olympics Games in Dakar.

Today’s engagement mainly focused on plans to have a Girls and Boys U17 Futsal Teams ready to represent the country in Dakar.

On the girls side, Nakiwala said she is willing to work with FAU to see that girls and women are fully represented and enjoying the game too.

“Futsal is such an impressive game & professional game in the making. I am glad its emphasising on girls and women participation at all levels.” Nakiwala said before adding.

“Futsal is growing at a much faster rate and through my docket am ready & willing to work with FAU to see that girls and women are fully represented and enjoying the game too”

Namugenyi who represented FAU also gave a little insight on what happened in the meeting.

“Today’s engagement is one of the ways FAU has taken in order to plan well for Girls Futsal to commence Competitions wise and other Programs in relation to Girls In Futsal engagements especially Capacity Building programs with FUFA.”

“Alot was discussed and a follow up meeting is slated for Thursday 6th October 2022 where all Women In Futsal Leaders are to present detailed program to FUFA”
