The Futsal Primary Schools League officially kicks off today, 25th March 2026 at Twinbrooks International School, marking the start of a new structured competition for youth players.

The opening day features a packed 10-game schedule played across two courts. Five schools—Twawil, Twinbrooks, Rays of Grace, Palmville, and Oakland—will compete in a round-robin format, giving every team four matches to prove themselves on day one.

The Long-Term Plan

This isn’t just a one-off event. The league is designed to run across three academic terms, focusing on different age groups to ensure every student gets a chance to play:

  • Term 1: Primary Seven (P7) – Age 13
  • Term 2: Primary Six (P6) – Ages 11-12
  • Term 3: Primary Five (P5) – Age 10

Following tomorrow’s opener, the P7s will return for Match Day Two on April 4th and Match Day Three on April 11th to wrap up the first phase.

Tournament Rules & Format

The league is sticking to international standards to give these kids a real feel for the game. Matches start at 11:00 AM and run for 25 minutes (two 12-minute halves).

With two courts running simultaneously, the action will be fast-paced. The five-round setup ensures a steady flow of games while giving one team a “bye” (rest) each round to recover.

What’s at Stake?

Beyond the trophies, the goal is to build a steady pipeline for futsal talent in the region. It’s an opportunity for young athletes to play in a professional, organized environment.

The points system is straightforward: 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. If teams are tied at the end of the term, goal difference and goals scored will decide the standings.
