Angel Nakitto will once again be in the spotlight when Mengo City Women take on Nansana ASKA Women in the Women’s Futsal Uganda Cup semifinal on Friday at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Kick-off for the encounter is set for 5pm, with both sides just one win away from reaching the final.
Mengo City have looked sharp throughout the competition and come into the semifinal full of confidence. Their attacking display in the quarterfinals showed exactly why many consider them among the strongest sides left in the tournament.
Nakitto has been one of the driving forces behind that run. The forward has consistently delivered in front of goal and remains Mengo’s biggest attacking threat heading into the semifinal.
She has also received strong support from teammates such as Shanitah Nalubwama and Shanitah Nakato, who have played important roles in stretching defenses and keeping Mengo’s attack lively.
But ASKA are unlikely to make things easy.
The Nansana-based side booked their place in the semifinals after a disciplined performance in the previous round, showing they can stay organized under pressure and take their chances when they come.
Captain Prossy Namatovu has been key to ASKA’s defensive stability, while goalkeeper Sarah Nakiyingi could have a busy evening if Mengo manage to impose their attacking rhythm.
With a place in the final at stake, the semifinal promises a competitive contest between Mengo’s attacking firepower and ASKA’s determined defensive setup.
