Friday night under the lights at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, it’s all on the line.
Mengo City FC come into their semifinal against Lubiri Falcons with momentum and belief after one of the standout performances of the quarterfinals.
Their 7–0 win over Entebbe Cheetahs wasn’t just dominant — it was controlled from start to finish. Akram Ssali led the charge with a well-taken hat-trick, constantly finding space and punishing every lapse. Ian Tugume added two of his own, stretching the game wide and breaking quickly whenever space opened up. Behind them, Samuel Omara kept things ticking, setting the rhythm and making sure Mengo never lost their shape.

Just as important was the clean sheet. Even while pushing forward in numbers, Mengo stayed compact at the back — something they’ll need against a side that thrives in tight contests.
Lubiri Falcons earned their semifinal place the hard way, edging Kisenyi FC 2–1 in a disciplined display. Hassan Kalule controlled the midfield battle, while Katumba Abdulrahman delivered when it mattered most. They may not score in bursts, but Lubiri are organised, patient and comfortable managing pressure.
This one could come down to small details — a duel won in midfield, a moment of quality in transition, or a lapse in concentration. If Lubiri can disrupt Mengo’s tempo and limit service into Ssali, they’ll fancy their chances. But give Tugume space to run, and the game can quickly tilt.
With a place in the final at stake, expect a tense, physical and fiercely competitive night at Old Kampala.
