Kisenyi Edge Edgars in Women’s Tactical Battle

In the women’s opener, Kisenyi FC produced a composed and mature performance to defeat Edgars Youth Programme 5–2 and book their place in the quarterfinals.

Nankinga Desire opened the scoring in the 8th minute with intelligent movement at the second post before Nassuna Leirah doubled the advantage four minutes later following a swift turnover. Edgars pulled one back through Mutesi Belindah in the 18th minute, but Nakiridde Catherine restored Kisenyi’s cushion before halftime.

After the break, Nankinga completed her brace in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on defensive transition gaps. Nakigozi Fatmah briefly reignited hope for Edgars in the 34th minute, but Nalule Josephine sealed the result in the 38th minute with a composed finish.

“We controlled tempo and managed our defensive transitions with maturity,” said Kisenyi head coach Sempala Moses.

Mbarara QC Storm into Quarterfinals in Ten-Goal Statement

The most emphatic performance of the night came from QC Mbarara, who dismantled Kabowa Dream Team 10–1 in a ruthless display of high pressing and clinical finishing.

Hadijjah Nandago struck early in the 2nd minute and added another in the 10th, setting the tempo for a dominant first half that also saw goals from Marianah Nakato and Naggayi Joanita. Kabowa managed a consolation through Watesemba Bella, but the second half belonged entirely to Mbarara.

In the headline fixture, Mengo City demonstrated composure and championship control in a 4–1 victory over Nansana ASKA to advance to the quarterfinals.

Ashiraf Semwogerere opened the scoring in the 5th minute after patient build-up play unlocked Nansana’s defensive block. Zakariya Muhammad equalized in the 23rd minute, but Mengo shifted gears in a decisive two-minute spell. Samuel Makmot Omara restored the lead in the 30th minute before Anthony Male extended it moments later.

Omara added his second in the 36th minute to seal a professional performance.

“Composure in possession and discipline in transition are what separate contenders from participants,” noted Mengo head coach Abdi Fatah.
