Major Boost for Futsal as FAU Leaders Earn Strategic FUFA Appointments

Futsal in Uganda has received a big lift after four officials from the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) were named to various FUFA Standing Committees for the 2025–2027 term. The appointments, announced by the FUFA Executive Committee, show the growing trust and value placed in futsal administrators at national level.

FAU Chairman Hamza Jjunju and Nansana ASKA CEO Isaac Okolimo will both serve on the FUFA Marketing Committee. Their combined experience in leadership, club management, branding, and fan engagement gives futsal strong representation in FUFA’s commercial strategy and promotional activities.

Kalule Abubakar Mayanja, who serves as both FAU Competitions Director and FAU Delegate, has been appointed to the FUFA Competitions Committee. His hands-on experience running futsal competitions will support FUFA’s wider efforts in managing football events across the country.

FAU CEO Ibrahim Mugera has been selected for the FUFA Innovations Committee, where he will help drive new ideas, modern systems, and technological improvements aimed at advancing football administration in Uganda.

These appointments mark a strong step forward for futsal, with FAU leaders now playing important roles in key areas of FUFA’s work—marketing, competitions, and innovation. It reflects futsal’s growing influence and its increasing role in shaping the future of football in Uganda.
