FAU receives nomination for FUFA Member Associations Award

FAU is nominated alongside NEC FC and the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA). The winner will be announced during the FUFA Awards Gala on 30th May 2025 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

The Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) has been nominated for the 2024 FUFA Member Associations Award, a prestigious recognition of its exceptional work in promoting and developing football through futsal across the country. This nomination highlights FAU’s continued rise as a key stakeholder in Ugandan football.

Since its establishment in 2015 and affiliation to FUFA in 2019, FAU has been instrumental in growing football and futsal through major competitions such as the Futsal Super League and the Futsal Uganda as well as youth development programs, coaching education, and referee training.

FAU’s nomination comes amid increasing recognition of futsal as a key development tool for football skills, particularly for young players. As an associate member of FUFA since 2019, FAU has consistently worked to align its programs with the national football agenda, emphasizing grassroots engagement and innovation in sports development.

“Futsal Association Uganda is deeply honored to be nominated for the FUFA Awards 2025.” FAU Chairman Hamzah Jjunju excitedly noted before adding;

“This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts of our dedicated stakeholders, including our passionate club owners, players, coaches, officials, fans, and partners & sponsors.”

“We are proud to be part of the Ugandan football family and look forward to continuing to promote and develop the beautiful game of futsal in our country.”

FAU is nominated alongside NEC FC and the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA). The winner will be announced during the FUFA Awards Gala on 30th May 2025 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

In a further boost for the futsal community, three standout players have been nominated for the Futsal Player of the Year award:

☑️Farouk Tumwesigye (Mengo City)

☑️Joshua Aziku (Park FC)

☑️Ilyas Omran (Kisenyi FC)

Public voting for the FUFA Awards begins on Saturday, 24th May 2025, and will be conducted via MTN USSD codes, which will be officially shared on the same day.
