Mengo City and Kisenyi FC have booked their places in the Futsal Uganda Cup final, set for Friday, 23 May at Old Kampala Futsal Arena, after a dominant win and a dramatic penalty shootout respectively in Monday’s semifinals.
Mengo City stormed into the final with a 4-1 win over Kabuusu Clouds, thanks to a first-half brace from Abdulkarim Tebera. Akram Ssali struck shortly after Tebera’s opener to double the lead, and Ian Tugume added a fourth in the second half to seal the result. Lule Uthman scored a late consolation for Kabuusu, but the result was beyond doubt.

The second semifinal served up a thriller as Kisenyi FC edged out defending champions Park FC 5-3 on penalties, following a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Both teams scored in the first half, with Derrick Walugembe giving Park the lead and Ilyas Omran equalising for Kisenyi to make it 1-1 at the break. With just seven minutes left, Michael Abura put Park ahead again—but disaster struck in the final minute when Joshua Aziku deflected Waleed Bashir’s shot into his own net, sending the match into penalties.
In the shootout, Kisenyi were clinical, converting all five of their penalties through Justus Ssempijja, Muhammad Abdi, Ilyas Omran, Salih Mohammed Ahmed (formerly listed as Kalaa), and Nsereko Abdul. Park’s Aziku missed the crucial spot-kick, after successful conversions by Shafiq Mulangira, John Kitanda, and Abura.

The final between Mengo City and Kisenyi FC kicks off this Friday, 23 May, at Old Kampala Futsal Arena—a showdown between two sides in top form, both hunting for silverware.
