Mengo City Futsal Club have etched their name into Ugandan futsal history by claiming their first-ever betPawa Futsal Super League (FSL) title with a resounding 10-0 victory over Crown Lubiri on the final day of the season.

Facing immense pressure going into the decisive round, Mengo City delivered a performance for the ages—dominant, composed, and utterly ruthless. It was a futsal masterclass that not only secured the title but did so in emphatic fashion.

Captain Male Anthony led by example, netting four goals in a dazzling display of leadership and skill. He was ably supported by John Musasizi, who scored twice, while Samuel Omara, Hakim Bagalaba, Arafat Kabanda, and Ian Tugume each added a goal to complete the rout.

The title race went down to the wire, with Park FC briefly climbing to the top of the table after edging QC Mbarara 4-3. However, Mengo City’s emphatic win saw them leapfrog Park to finish the season at the summit.

This triumph marks a historic milestone for Mengo City, who had come close to glory in previous seasons but finally seized their moment in spectacular fashion. Remarkably, they clinched the title having lost only once all season—a 7-1 defeat to Park FC in the opener. From there, Mengo City embarked on a remarkable 21-game unbeaten run, registering 18 wins and three draws.

With the league title secured, Mengo City now have a chance to become just the second team in Ugandan futsal history to win a domestic treble—betPawa FSL, Futsal Uganda Cup, and Futsal Super Cup. They are currently in the semifinals of the Futsal Uganda Cup, where they will face Kabuusu Cloud. The Futsal Super Cup, meanwhile, is contested by the winners of the FSL and the Uganda Cup.

Previous champions of the betPawa FSL include Park FC (twice), Yeak Kabowa (twice), Kabowa, and KJT.
