Mengo City stretched their unbeaten run to 17 matches in the BetPawa Futsal Super League with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Edgars Youth Programme on Friday night.

Despite facing a resilient Edgars side, the league leaders found the breakthrough midway through the second half when Abdulkarim Tebera calmly slotted home to give the Stormers a deserved lead. Ian Tugume doubled the advantage shortly after to seal all three points and maintain Mengo’s spot at the summit.

It was a composed performance from the Stormers, who have not lost a game since their opening-day 7-1 defeat to Park FC. With 45 points from 18 matches, Mengo now lead the table by a single point over their title rivals.

The Rangers looked in control after John Kitanda gave them a first-half lead, but they were stunned early in the second half as Jacob Opio and Kazibwe Shuhaib scored in quick succession to put Nansana ahead.

Although Vincent Abigaba briefly restored QC’s lead with a penalty of his own, Kabowa came roaring back in the final ten minutes with goals from Patrick Ssekandi, Carlos Kaddu, and Vincent Kazibwe to complete a remarkable turnaround.
