Ugandan Referee Brian Nsubuga Emmy to Officiate at 2025 Futsal Women’s AFCON

Ugandan futsal referee Brian Nsubuga Emmy has been selected to officiate at the 2025 Futsal Women’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. According to a document released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Nsubuga is among 30 match officials chosen from 12 African countries.

Nsubuga will serve as an assistant referee alongside top officials from across the continent, including Hnich Khalid (Morocco), Mahumana Matendene Santos (Mozambique), and Ukah Ndubuisi Odigomma (Nigeria).

This selection marks a significant milestone in Nsubuga’s career, recognizing his expertise and dedication to futsal officiating. A FIFA-certified futsal referee, he has officiated at various high-profile matches, including the CAF 2024 Futsal AFCON qualifier between Namibia and Tanzania in Windhoek. He was appointed alongside fellow FIFA Futsal Ugandan referee Isaac Ssengendo.

The 2025 Futsal Women’s AFCON will take place in Rabat from April 22 to 30, featuring the best teams on the continent battling for the championship. The tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, set to be held later in the year in the Philippines.

All matches will be played at the Moulay-Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
