The semifinalists of the Frenzy Edition of the betPawa Futsal Super League have been confirmed following the quarterfinal matches held on Friday at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.

Kisenyi FC, QC Mbarara, Crown Lubiri, and Mengo City have emerged as the top four teams, securing their spots in the semifinals.

Kisenyi FC secured its slot following a thrilling late goal by youngster Mohammed Abdi, who scored with just one minute remaining to help the Sky Blues secure a 4-3 victory. Abdi’s late strike was his second goal of the game, complementing Waleed Bashir’s impressive double. Eze Kombi scored a double for the losing side, Edgars Youth Programme.

QC Mbarara, meanwhile, brushed aside Kabowa Dream Team 4-1, thanks to braces from Kassaga Sadam and Tamale Franklin.

Crown Lubiri, in the third quarterfinal of the day, secured its spot in the last four after winning a penalty shootout 7-6, following a 3-3 stalemate after 40 minutes. In normal time, Muhammad Sharif, Abdi Shakur Abdul, and Mohamud Hassan scored for Crown Lubiri, while Ethan Mubiru, Ntanzi Huzaifah, and Muwanika Yakub were on target for Kabuusu Clouds.

In the penalty shootout, both teams converted six of their initial kicks. However, Clouds’ step-in goalkeeper Mwanje Shagaf missed the decisive kick, giving Abdijabar Jama the opportunity to seal the win for Crown Lubiri, which he duly converted.

In the last quarterfinal of the day, Mengo City proved too strong for Park FC, securing a convincing 5-1 victory over their rivals. Ian Tugume and Abdulkarim Tebera each scored twice in the second half to ensure the Stormers secured a vital victory.

The semifinals are scheduled for April, with Crown Lubiri set to take on QC Mbarara and Mengo City facing off against Kisenyi FC.
