Crown Lubiri continued to shine in the Frenzy Edition of the betPawa Futsal Super League on Friday evening at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, securing yet another victory to maintain their perfect start to the tournament.

The Somali side held on to overcome Busunju Spaks 2-1, thanks to goals from Abdiwahab Abasi and AbdiShakur Abdul Kadir.

Keith Ssali scored a consolation goal for Busunju Spaks, but it was not enough to prevent his team from slipping to defeat. This second victory for Crown Lubiri has booked them a slot in the next stage of the tournament.

For Busunju Spaks, the defeat has made their path to the next stage more challenging. They will need to beat Park FC next week in order to advance to the next stage of the games, a task that will require them to regroup and refocus after this setback.

In another match, Mengo City earned a bright start to their campaign with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Kabuusu Clouds. The win was a masterclass performance by Mengo City, with five different players finding the back of the net. Bagalaba Hakim, Akram Ssali, Ian Tugume, Akram Katende, and Arafat Kabanda all scored for Mengo City, under the guidance of January’s Luka Pharmacy Coach of the Month Winner, Abdifatah Abdullahi.

Mengo City will be back in action next weekend when they take on Kisugu FC, who are eager for victory having lost three points and three goals last week due to a no-show at the Arena. Kisugu FC will be looking to bounce back from that setback and make a statement against Mengo City.

Edgars Youth Programme was the other side that secured a victory on Friday, dismantling Lubaga Grameen 9-4 in a high-scoring affair. The win will be a huge boost to Edgars Youth Programme, who drew last weekend 2-2 with QC Mbarara.

In another thrilling match, Kisenyi FC failed to hold onto their lead, drawing 2-2 with Kabowa Dream Team. Waleed Bashir scored both of Kisenyi’s goals, but Ogwang Victor and Ssenyonga Aksam found the back of the net for Kabowa Dream Team to secure a hard-fought draw.

The Frenzy Edition of the betPawa Futsal Super League will continue next weekend with four other games at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, promising more exciting action and drama for fans.
