betPawa FSL: Top 4 Teams Secure Victories as Abasi Nets Five

The top four teams in the 2024/25 betPawa Futsal Super League continued their dominance with impressive wins in Matchday Eight on Friday evening at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.

In the second game of the day, Nansana ASKA staged a remarkable comeback, overcoming a two-goal deficit to thrash QC Mbarara 8-4. Umar Niyoshima was the star of the show, netting a haul of goals, while Jacob Opio scored twice and Mekoston Utshudi and Isa Kisule added one each for Mohammad Senfuma’s side, who had trailed earlier in the game following Gibran Ndukukire and Vicent Abigaba’s strikes. With this victory, ASKA returned to winning ways after last week’s 4-0 loss to Park FC.

Park FC, who sit second on the table, also won their game by defeating Busunju Spaks 6-0. Abasi Muluya was the star man of this game, scoring a day-high five goals to help his side secure their seventh victory of the season. Michael Abura got Park’s other goal of the day.

Immediately after Park’s win, Crown Lubiri also held on to secure yet another victory by beating Kisenyi 6-5 in an entertaining derby. Crown were 4-0 up at the start of the second half following goals from Muhammad Mahmoud, Abdihamid Ahmed, and Abdinasir Omar. Kisenyi then pulled a goal back following Shafic Darir’s strike. Hassan Mohamud then scored twice to put Crown 6-1 with less than 15 minutes to go, but Kisenyi, through Ilyas Omran and Julius Kassaga, fought back to ensure the game had a nervy 6-5 ending. In the course of the second half, Abdulkarim Abdullahi and Darir were both sent off by the referees due to unsportsmanlike behavior.

With this victory, Crown maintains its unbeaten start to the season, having won seven of their eight games thus far. The only game they failed to win was on Matchday four when they drew 4-4 with Lubaga Grameen.

To close off Matchday eight and the day, Mengo City came from behind to defeat Kabowa Dream Team 5-2. To secure victory, Abdulkarim Tebera and Ian Tugume each scored twice, while Male Anthony also got on the score sheet. Patrick Ssenkandi and Muhammad Ali Hamid scored Kabowa’s consolation. With this victory, Mengo City has now won six consecutive games to move third on the log, with 19 points in their eight games thus far.
