The 2024/25 betPawa Futsal Super League ignited on Friday evening at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, with defending champions Park FC making a resounding statement in their title defense. Two debutants, Kabuusu Clouds and Crown Lubiri, also impressed with convincing wins.
Park FC Starts Title Defense with 7-1 Thrashing of Mengo City
Park FC dominated Mengo City 7-1 in their opener, showcasing their intent to retain the title they won last season in remarkable unbeaten fashion.

Joshua Aziku opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a precision strike. After the break, Abasi Junior Muluya scored a haul, Aziku completed his brace, while Shafiq Mulangira added a goal. John Musasizi scored Mengo’s consolation in a losing effort.
Debutants Kabuusu Clouds, Crown Lubiri Shine
Kabuusu Clouds obliterated Busunju Spaks 8-1, with Gaddafi Bazanyanengo scoring four times. Najib Muwonge, Uthman Lule, and Derrick Tenywa also found the back of the net for Clouds.

Crown Lubiri, another debutant, held on to overcome Kisugu FC 5-3. The Somali side, helped by Hassan Mohamud’s hat-trick, led 3-0 at halftime. They scored twice more early in the second half to lead 5-0 going into the last 10 minutes. Despite Kisugu’s late surge, scoring thrice in the last eight minutes, Crown secured their first victory.

Other Matchday 1 Results
Kisenyi, last season’s runners-up, dispatched debutants QC Mbarara 7-5 in a 12-goal thriller, with Ilyas Omran netting four goals.

Kabowa Dream Team overcame Edgar’s Youth Programme 3-0, while Nansana ASKA secured a 5-2 victory over Lubaga Grameen.
The 2024/25 betPawa Futsal Super League will resume next Friday with six games on Matchday 2 at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Matchday 1 Goal Statistics
A total of 47 goals were scored across six games. Kabuusu Clouds emerged as the highest scorer with 8 goals, while Edgar’s Youth Programme was the only side that failed to find the back of the net.
Three players – Gaddafi Bazanyanengo, Ilyas Omran and Abasi Junior Muluya each scored four goals on the opening day.
