Henry Mwebe’s journey to his Uganda Premier League debut for Wakiso Giants on November 31, 2024, highlights the significant role futsal played in shaping his game.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper showcased his talents in a memorable performance against Express FC, delivering a series of impressive saves and earning the Man of the Match title in a goalless draw.

Before joining Wakiso Giants, Mwebe honed his skills playing futsal with both Yeak Kabowa (2017-2021) and Nansana ASKA ( last season) . He credits futsal with improving his game awareness, ball distribution, and reading of play—qualities that stood out in his first top-flight match.

“Playing futsal really boosted my skills,” Mwebe reflected while interviewed by Wakiso Giants Media.

“It helped me refine my awareness, improve my distribution, and get a better feel for reading the game.”

Now with Wakiso Giants, Mwebe feels he’s becoming an even stronger goalkeeper and looks forward to contributing more in upcoming matches.
