Michael Lubowa has made history by breaking the Futsal Super League record for most goals scored in a single season.
The talented pivot achieved this feat by scoring an impressive seven goals on the final day of the 2023/24 betPawa FSL, leading Lubaga Grameen to a thrilling 11-7 victory over Edgars Youth Programme at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
With this remarkable performance, Lubowa took his total tally to 50 goals, surpassing the previous record of 48 goals set by Sulaiman Mutyaba in the 2017/18 season. What’s even more impressive is that Lubowa achieved this milestone in just 22 appearances, whereas Mutyaba’s record came in 26 games.
Lubowa’s exceptional goal-scoring form has left him nine goals clear of his nearest competitor, AbdiKarim Abdullahi Ahmed, who netted 41 times for Kisenyi FC. His record-breaking achievement cements his position as one of the greatest strikers in Futsal Super League history.
