In the opening game of the 2023 Africa Games in Ghana, The Uganda National men’s U20 football team, the Uganda Hippos, will battle football giants, Nigeria at the Accra Stadium.
Among the 20 Ugandan U20 football players currently in Ghana, four youngster are Futsal Super League (FSL) graduates.
The first one is midfielder Ivan Irinimbabazi who featured and helped Synergy Futsal Club finish fourth in the 2020/21 Futsal Super League season.

Forwards Abasi Kyeyune, Shafiq Magogo and Alpha Thiery Ssali are also FSL graduates.
Just like Irinimbabazi, Magogo was part of the Synergy FC squad, while Ssali featured for giants Park FC in 2019.
For Abasi, he is a FSL winner and was voted the 2021/22 Futsal Super League Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance during Kampala Junior Team
incredible trophy triumph. Before that, he had featured for Mengo City in the 2020/21 season.
